I got my arm tattoo because one of my happiest memories as a child in Vermont is playing amongst the blackberry bushes in my parent's front yard. I am going to fill the rest of my arm with sunflowers and native insects/wildflowers, an ode to the sunflower garden I planted every year in my mom's garden and the gorgeous Vermont natural landscape I got to call home. The ocean piece represents some of my favorite animals as well as a life-changing experience I had swimming with a sea turtle in St Croix years ago. Nature is a part of me; I had to put it permanently on my body.
