All of my tattoos represent some significant aspect of who I am. I've always appreciated visual art as a medium for storytelling so I get tattoos as a way of using my body to tell parts of my story. I also get tattoos to memorialize significant things that have happened during my journey through life. The llama tattoo on my leg represents my first son, whom my wife and I lost very late in her/our first pregnancy. The fox tattoo on my arm represents our second son, who we were blessed with about a year later. The lighthouse and rowboat tattoo on my left forearm represents my faith and the struggle that comes with believing. The band on my right forearm is comprised of ancient/traditional Filipino tribal art/patterns that represent the indigenous roots of my ancestors - the patterns represent "past, present, and future". The characters at the center are written in Baybayin, which is one of the precolonial writing systems used by early Filipinos, and translates into "I AM"
