I started my leg sleeve of flowers and butterflies in May of 2022 after my intense battle with depression. I’ve battled with mental illness since elementary school. It became life-threatening in 2021. When I finally found the help I needed, I felt hopeful that one day I wouldn’t have to question why I’m still here and I would be able to enjoy the things I love, butterflies and flowers. Since the 2nd grade, I have anyways been fascinated by the life cycle of a butterfly. Butterflies are known to represent rebirth, freedom, and transformation. Flowers are known to represent life and growth. All of the things I wanted to experience. I dedicated my skin to reminding myself that every day I’m here, I’m growing and transforming to be the best I can be.
